Notting Hill Carnival Case Study


Facilitating the safe attendance of visitors to the event in Notting Hill, London since 2013.

Background

London’s Notting Hill Carnival (LNHC) is recognised as the largest street festival in Europe attracting more than 1.5 million visitors across three days.

The event is a series of processions, competitions and stage shows, held in an urban area with approximately 50,000 participants, over 140 performance vehicles and 30 static sound systems.

The McKenzie Arnold Group’s role is to facilitate the safe attendance of visitors to the event.

Strategy

Pre-event planning involves MAG management attending numerous meetings with representatives from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster City Council, the Metropolitan Police, the British Transport Police, Transport for London, London Fire Brigade, St Johns Ambulance, and many more. On the main event days, MAG deploys 900-1000 staff per day.

Result

Due to our unrivalled operational performance and ability, MAG are the longest serving crowd management suppliers in LNHC’s 50-year history.First awarded the contract in 2013, this year marks MAG’s 9th year supporting the event and although this year may look different from usual, we are pleased to be a supporting partner.
